It’s been 10 years since SBN Marketing officially became “a thing”.
When I looked up “10 year anniversary”, these two items popped up:
“The decade-long anniversary gift is traditionally tin or aluminum, which symbolize the strength and resilience of your marriage.”
“Traditionally, tin or aluminum is meant to commemorate the 10th wedding anniversary. Known for their resilience and inability to rust, they symbolize the durability of your marriage.”
And two things then popped into my head:
- Owning a business IS a lot like a marriage.
- Strength and resilience have DEFINITELY been requirements to make it this far.
2020 brought a lot of changes just to make it through the pandemic. Hard choices were made. But we made it. This year brought its own set of hard choices, too, though. Opportunities came my way that meant fundamental changes in the way things at SBN Marketing operate and would alter how we approached our client roster. It’s been an adjustment, and not always an easy one. We’re keeping our eyes on the prize, though, to make sure that, no matter what Year 11 – and 2022 – brings, we’ll make it through better, smarter, and raring to go!
So today, I’ll be raising a glass at 9am to commemorate 10 years in business, of successes and failures, of gains and losses, and of the wild, wild ride it’s been.
