2017 resolutions from SBN Marketing SEO and social media for small businessespost by Stephanie Nelson

2016 is coming to an end, and 2017 is drawing nigh. As is customary this time of year, a list of resolutions has been started. Here, in no particular order, are the resolutions we’re committing to for 2017:

  • Honor our business plan.
Earlier in December, I sat down and, for the first time in company history, set specific goals for the types of clients I wanted to bring in, the level of growth I wanted to strive for, a few milestones I wanted to reach, etc. My plan is to revisit that binder at least once a month to try and stay on track.
  • Speak more.
In 2016, I had the opportunity to speak about SEO and social media at a couple different lunch & learns and conferences for small businesses. As nervous as I get beforehand, I’d still like to do more of this in 2017. If you know of any opportunities, shoot me a message!
  • Re-up our 2016 blogging and social media resolutions.
For this year, we as a company resolved to blog once per week and to pay more attention to posting to our own social media accounts. Overall, we’ve done a good job of honoring that one, and we’re aiming to keep it up for 2017.
  • Revisit our “take more social media breaks” 2016 resolution.
This year, I committed to better use notifications (so that I’m not constantly checking things for no reason) and automated responses (so people get a message that we’ll get back to them as soon as possible) to take a bit of the pressure off and let us put the iPhone and iPad down and walk away from the MacBook. All of this was so that I could continue to do my best for our clients without risking a burn out. I’ll admit – I did better at this one than I thought I would, but I was certainly nowhere close to perfect. So I’m adding it back to the list for 2017 and hoping to do even better.

So there you have it, what we’re resolving to do in 2017. What are your resolutions?
